Impacts of “Additional Measures to Combat Antisemitism” Executive Order

AAUP is working with the Knight First Amendment Institute to understand the impact on our members of Executive Order 14161, titled “Protecting the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats,” and Executive Order 14188, titled “Additional Measures to Combat Antisemitism.” Together with a Fact Sheet released in tandem with E.O. 14188, these executive orders suggest that the Trump administration may seek to revoke the visas of non-citizen students and academic staff based on their participation in pro-Palestinian protests, association with pro-Palestinian student or faculty groups, or other pro-Palestinian expression. We are considering possible responses, including litigation.

To that end, we hope to learn more about how the executive orders are affecting non-citizen faculty or academic staff who are in the country on visas. If that describes you, we would greatly appreciate it if you would respond to the following survey questions. Any information you provide to them in response to the survey questions will be treated as privileged and confidential.
