Senate Intervention on FERC Abuses
The Senate is on the verge of voting to restore FERC’s quorum. Once this happens,  FERC will get back to their decades-long tradition of sacrificing communities and the climate for the corporate bottom-line of their puppeteers. Billions of dollars, the health and well-being of millions, and the stability of the climate all hang in the balance. To say it’s time to stage an intervention is an understatement.

Join us on August 3rd as we stage a sit-in at a key senator's office in Washington, DC. Our message is simple--take the lead in opposing a restoration of FERC’s quorum, or face a growing rebellion. We will not be satisfied until Congress takes at least one step toward replacing FERC with an agency dedicated to a just transition off fossil fuels (such as holding hearings to investigate the abuses of power and law by FERC).

Senators on both sides of the aisle need to understand that there will be political consequences for voting to restore FERC’s quorum. We will hold this sit-in as a necessary intervention for the survival of communities and the climate. We will be confrontational, confident, and composed as we make our demands clear and render the senators’ offices unusable for the duration of our stay.
