We are back and we are listening

OUR MISSION: To protect and enhance the Merced Wild and Scenic River and its watershed through education, stewardship, and partnership-based projects.

The Upper Merced River Watershed Council was founded in 2001. For years, we were a robust organization with grants, staff, volunteers, and a number of community-serving projects. A ONE-TWO punch hit us in 2012 with a building fire that destroyed our office, coupled with a drought of grant funding causing us to lose staff. Since that time, a dedicated group of board members has kept the Council alive.

TODAY - thanks to a WATERSmart grant from the Department of Reclamation - we are reigniting our efforts! We need to hear from you what river and its watershed needs today, and how you think our organization can help.
