iGEM Neuro-ethical survey
This two section, 5-minute survey is geared toward understanding the community's opinion towards gene editing and neuro-ethics.
The scenarios described are in their nascent experimental stages. Germline gene editing is modifying the genome of the gametes (egg, sperm) and early embryos. These edits irreversibly make changes to the next few generations making it highly controversial even for disease management and treatment. The findings from this survey will be used to write a well-rounded neuroethical report for the NCSU iGEM team.
1. Study ethics in brain research and how new brain biotechnologies should be ethically developed
2. We seek to understand what people know and want to know about the brain and ethics.
3. How should brain technologies be regulated for public safety and benefit?

The NCSU iGEM team (Project ForgetMeNot) acknowledges that these technologies are far into the future, but this survey and a report will serve as a spark to a much-needed conversation surrounding emerging biotechnologies.
