On 25 June 2024, an anonymous member of the ANU Schmidposting Facebook group posted an email about changes to graduation ceremony, whereby all ANU graduations will be streamlined to a single week per year from 2025. Understandably, many students expressed shock, anger, sadness and bitter disappointment upon receiving the news, with the post gaining over 150 reactions and over 30 comments within the two days since it was posted. Several members of the ANU student community shared the University Services Feedback form, advising students to share their thoughts on the changes with the University. Staff of the University have let me know that the Registrar have already received a large number of responses from students.
It has come to my attention, however, that the University Services Feedback form is not anonymous, as students have to log in with their university accounts in order to access the form. Recognising that the lack of anonymity may make some students feel uncomfortable with providing feedback, I wanted to provide an alternative option in my capacity as an ANUSA College of Arts and Social Sciences Representative: an anonymous feedback form, open for responses from all students at the ANU. I will then bring your responses to the attention of ANUSA and the University for review, and advocate on your behalf to ensure that your feedback is heard.
Please note: while this form will ask for your u-number for verification purposes (so as to ensure that all responses are from ANU students), your identifying information will NOT be passed onto the ANU, and any feedback you share will be completely anonymous. You can also be assured that I, as a student and a representative of ANUSA, do not have any interest in the University and its decisions: this form is for students, by students.
