Guidelines for Scholarships from the Promise and Possibilities Foundation

The period for submitting a application proposal is August 1st through August 10th. The Foundation will not accept application after August 10. To be considered for one of the following scholarships please complete the document and submit the requirements. Scholarship are offered based on funding. Please note in order to meet the demand of applications you may not receive the full requested scholarship.

2. Promise and Possibilities Burnell and Rumenia Johnson Memorial Scholarship (Majoring in Agricultural Science JA High School) $250 Annually (Sept 15)

3. Promise and Possibilities Foundation Bishop Cardinal Denton Memorial Scholarship (Continuing student with 3.0 GPA Active in Local Ministry/Church) $250 Annually (September 15)

4. Promise and Possibilities Nigel Johnson Memorial Scholarship (Student Majoring in Criminal Justice) $500 (September 15)

5. Promise and Possibilities Marian Anderson Memorial Scholarship (Graduating student from Portland, JA) $250 (September 15)

6. Promise and Possibilities Julia Johnson Scholarship (Single mother in college 3.0 GPA) $250 Annually (September 15)

7. Promise and Possibilities Jean Claude and Vivette Pierre Family Scholarship (Immigrant seeking Entry Level HHA/CHHA credential) $250 annually (Contingent on Funding)

8. Promise and Possibilities Shortwood Ladies Scholarship ($500 Annually to majoring in Education at Shortwood Teachers College) (September 15)

9. Promise and Possibilities International Student Scholarship (Continuing Student with 3.0 GPA) $500 Annually (May 15)

10. Promise and Possibilities Roslyn Grey Memorial Scholarship (Single mother in college 3.0 GPA) $250 Annually (September 15)

11. Promise and Possibilities Foundation High School Student Scholarship ($ 250 Annually)

12. Promise and Possibilities Foundation Career and Technical Education Student Scholarship ($ 500 Annually)

Criteria for applicants are as follows: 1. The student must be enrolled in an accredited institution. College/High School/Trade School/Culinary. 2. The student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. A transcript must be submitted with the scholarship application. 3. The student must submit a written essay of at least one page, describing the reasons why he or she should be selected. The essay must be received via e-mail promisepossibilitiesfoundation@gmail.com along with transcript. 4. The student must commit to volunteer in at least 10 hours of community service.5. Your application will speak for you so please make every word count. 5. For high school Students an acceptance letter and package cover letter is required for incoming students and a transcript for continuing students
