Need-Based Scholarships

The KJSO offers need-based scholarships for many of the costs associated with membership.

Would the student like to apply for a need-based scholarship through the KJSO for any of the following?

  • KJSO registration fees ($125 per member)
  • Pre-season camp fees (approx. $125 per member)
  • Private lessons (generous need-based amounts available)
  • Summer music camp tuition (ex: Blue Lake, Interlochen, etc...)
  • Instrument purchase/repair
  • Other enrichment activities (varies by year: trips to see professional orchestra concerts, etc...)
Notes:
  1. Registration and camp fees are due upon acceptance to the KJSO - not before auditions. There is no fee to audition.
  2. The KJSOs do NOT charge a TUITION fee in addition to the fees listed above. We, instead, cover our operating costs through grants, donations, and fundraising.

The KJSO relies on volunteerism to keep costs low to members. Parents are highly encouraged to help in various ways throughout the season.

Media Release Policy *
To promote and celebrate the work of the KJSO, we regularly publish videos, audio, and photos of KJSO members in digital and print form. 

All members will be required to sign a media release form upon acceptance to the KJSO.
