The Artistic Committee considers many factors when selecting a balanced slate of shows for a season. Our audience enjoys variety, so we strive—when possible—to include a mix such as a musical, a comedy, and a drama. We also take into account directors’ requested time slots, as well as which types of shows tend to work best in specific slots (for example, dramas historically do not perform as well for us in the winter).
For these reasons, if a show is not selected for a given season, it does not necessarily reflect the committee’s opinion of the quality of the work. In many cases, we simply could not find the right placement for it within the overall slate, or it was outweighed by other logistical or programming considerations.
