1. Champions: A program designed to guide, inspire and support entrepreneurs that are in the concept stage through their first few years of starting a business. As a mentor, you would be called on to participate in one of three group sessions that include 5-8 entrepreneurs in a similar stage of business. Topics include: (1) Marketing & Branding, (2) Sales & Business Development, (3) Growth & Scale. Mentors will collaborate with a Facilitator to decide on the best content for the session. They’ll also provide 30-minute mentoring 1:1 slots during the month of their session, for that same group of entrepreneurs. The role requires a passion for: nurturing leadership, fostering community and entrepreneurship, serving a diverse community with diverse needs, and mentorship as an important asset to an entrepreneur. Each participant (mentors and mentees) is required to attend a Commons 101 that covers mentorship best practices and the various of resources that are available.(Commitment: 5 hours over 4 months, available quarterly)
2. Women on the Rise: This mentorship program is designed for women entrepreneurs, through our Women On The Rise initiative. You would be paired with a single mentee for a year long program that requires a commitment of about two hours a month. The next cohort of mentor/mentee pairs will be decided in April 2019.(Commitment: 2 hours per month for 6-12 months)
3. Commons Power Hours: Our weekly sessions where we invite some of the most well-respected professionals in the region to share their entrepreneurial insights and provide feedback on a startup, products or services, and fledgling ideas. Each session includes one subject matter expert, business leader or experienced entrepreneur representing different industries and areas of expertise. Mentor Hours are open to the public and are a great way to serve the broader entrepreneurship community by sharing your knowledge and experience in an informal, conversational format.(Commitment: 90-minute session 2-3 times per year)
4. CO.Starters at The Commons: Guest Mentors are an essential resource for our 9-week accelerator program that is specially designed to support development of business models. Guest mentors add insight and serve as sources of inspiration. As a Guest Mentor, you would participate in one session for about 90 minutes total for a conversation about your experience with building a business to scale. Each session is led by trained facilitators and focuses on a particular topic, from marketing and knowing the customer to building a model to scale. This opportunity is open to founders or owners who have started a business within the past five years.(Commitment: 90-minute session 1-2 times per year)
