CRITERION1. Graduating senior at LCHS2. Student must be enrolled in at least two years of course work at LCHS in one of the Fine Arts Departments. One year must be the senior year3. Student must not have professional status in any of the areas 4. Student must be planning to continue an involvement in art5. Student must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or better6. The emphasis will be on the performance or portfolio
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION
1. Student prepares a five-minute performance piece or a portfolio presentation. Student applies by completing the application and submitting it online by Thursday, April 12, 2018. Place an unofficial transcript and resume in a sealed envelope labeled with your name and ‘LCTA Jeanne Maus Memorial Scholarship’ and give it to Mrs. Hicklin by Thursday, April 12, 2018.
2. Portfolio shall contain a minimum of 10 works, matted and labeled as the medium. It should include more than one medium. In the case of a ceramist, the student should have 3 – 5 pieces including at least one hand-built piece (if others are all wheel), or one wheel-thrown piece if others are hand-built. Foot should be trimmed on thrown pieces. All pieces must be glazed. Photography presentation must be of professional quality.
3. Visual Art Applicants will present their portfolios and Performance Finalists will audition to the LCTA Scholarship Committee on Thursday, April 26. Applicants will be notified of the time and location of the presentation/audition.
4. Monetary scholarships will be awarded in the areas of performing arts and fine arts.
