Description of Quests:Week 1 & 2: Chocolate QuestIn this quest students will get hands on with Design Thinking. They will meet a challenge to design a new kind of chocolate bar to appeal to kids their age. Along their way they will learn to analyze a problem, ideate, prototype, and refine an idea into a solution. They will also be getting messy in the kitchen experimenting with many different chocolate bar creations. Parents will get a chance to taste the final bars at the exhibition on the last day.
Week 3 & 4: Animation QuestIn this quest students will write a creative story and animate it using block coding on Scratch. They will deeply engage the narrative process, writing and animating characters, settings, conflicts, and resolutions. They will learn to storyboard their ideas to establish sequence and to design visual scenes to tell their stories. They will also improve their logical and mathematical thinking by coding their stories into logic blocks to drive their animation. Parents will get to view the final animations and ask the creators questions at the exhibition on the final day.
Our summer program consists of 4 sessions, the first session starting June 4th. The cost of each session is $650 per week. You can select 1 week sessions or multiple weeks. The cost for the full 4 sessions is $2400 (discounted $200).
