Please use this form to let us know if you are interested in group campout surveys or individual surveys. We will reach out with details before each group event and as training resources become available.
In general, group survey events take place in prime bat habitat and are centered around a campground. Surveys take place after sunset and we encourage volunteers to camp. The Bat Hub will cover all camping fees and can provide transportation to campgrounds from Bend. We also have camping gear to lend, if needed.
Individual surveys are independent and take place in a variety of locations. You get to choose where and what evening you want to survey. Opportunistic surveys are completely non-committal, you simply complete a short training to learn to auditorily identify a few bats and then if you hear a bat while you're out and about, you fill out a short form.
