Stock the Teacher's Lounge- Volunteer to bring snacks, drinks, and other treats for teachers to enjoy throughout the day. Our teachers always appreciate a boost throughout the day! Help take care of teachers so they can take care of kids.
Library Aide- Library aides help Mrs. Ratliff with a variety of daily library operations such as checking in and out library books, reshelving books, fixing damaged books, and helping students locate books.
Workroom Helpers-Workroom helpers volunteer in the teacher workroom. Common tasks in the teacher workroom include making copies, using die cuts, cutting paper for special projects, and laminating.
Morning Greeters- Opening car doors in the morning, welcoming students getting off the bus and helping out in the cafeteria in the morning.
Mentoring Program-Mentors will form relationships with students at Hackberry. Mentor volunteers may spend time with their mentee playing games, eating lunch, reading, or helping the student in class.
Reading Volunteer-Reading volunteers help directly in classrooms. These volunteers may read aloud stories to a student or a small group of students. Students may also practice reading aloud to the volunteer.
Lunch Support- Enjoy building relationships with students during their lunch hour. Volunteers will assist students and staff in the cafeteria.
Makerspace Support-Volunteer in our makerspace where students are engaged in innovative projects! Volunteers can support the makerspace teachers or even create projects of their own for students to complete. Come check out the amazing things our students are working on in makerspace!
Career Day-Career Day volunteers can support Hackberry in a variety of ways to ensure a smooth and successful day. Hackberry is always looking for presenters eager to share about their career to groups of students. If you would prefer not to present, volunteers can help with set up and clean up before and after the event.
Spring Carnival-Spring Carnival is an annual Hackberry tradition. Volunteers are needed to help this event be successful. Volunteers can help with set up, running carnival games, selling food & tickets, and clean up.
LOBO Fest-Lobo Fest is an annual end of year celebration at Hackberry. Volunteers are needed to help set up, run stations, support students during games, serve food, and clean up stations at the end of the day.
Company Sponsorship- Company sponsorship's support Hackberry through financial contributions and volunteering to complete various projects on campus during the year. Examples of projects completed by sponsors include the construction of our makerspace lab and planters in the outdoor classroom.
Office Support-Office volunteers help our front office ladies. Common tasks include answering phones, greeting visitors, making copies, and providing assistance to the school nurse.
Watch D.O.G.S.-WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement program offered by the National Center for Fathering in which Hackberry Elementary has enthusiastically adopted. They will support the school through monitoring the school entrance, assisting with unloading and loading of buses and cars, monitoring the lunch room, or helping in the classroom with a teacher's guidance either working one-on-one or in small groups.
