Young Leaders for Wild Florida 2019 Application (due May 1)
Our application deadline is May 1, 2019!

We are excited that you are interested in 2 weeks of adventure, service, learning and leadership in wild Florida! This is an Alachua Conservation Trust program and we will be using ACT's facilities, lands, staff, supervision, and expertise (alachuaconservationtrust.org).

Please note that spots are limited, and students who apply earlier will receive preference.

Basic info:
The core program runs from Monday, June 10 to Saturday, June 22.

"Next Steps" is an optional third week of our program from Monday June 24th-Friday June 28th. It offers participants the opportunity to take the next steps in environmental leadership through more in-depth outdoor service and environmental advocacy projects with your peers as well as alumni from last year's program (and we'll still have fun outdoor adventures!).

All youth between the ages of 16 to 19 living or studying in Alachua County are encouraged to apply. If you are 15 and seriously interested, we may make exceptions-- please contact opsychas@middlebury.edu

Young Leaders for Wild Florida is a donation-based program. We encourage a minimum donation of $30 (our costs are over $300 per participant).

This application includes one short essay (up to 300 words). Don't worry, this is not a formal essay, it will be used to give us sense of what you care about.

If you are accepted (expect to hear back by May 5th, 2019), we will send you an email with further information on confirming your enrollment.

If accepted, would you like to participate in "Next Steps," an optional third week of our program? This week, running from Monday June 24th to Friday June 28th, will offer the opportunity to take the next steps in empowering yourself as a leader through more in-depth outdoor service and environmental advocacy projects with your peers and alumni from last year's program (and we'll still have fun outdoor adventures!).
I am ready to get outside, work hard when we need to, respect my peers and mentors, and be actively engaged in this program!
Thanks so much for your interest! Please contact opsychas@middlebury.edu for any questions or concerns.
