Completing this form will express your interest only for accessing and using the Westmill site to carry out media/commercial activities, commercial research, or to deliver an event. It does not secure members of WeSET, the Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative and/or the Westmill Solar Co-operative for contributor purposes to any sort of project. You will need to contact us separately to discuss this possibility. *PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to visit the site for a guided tour then you should book on a public tour or request a bespoke group tour HERE.

If you are taking photographs or making videos for your own exclusive use then you are welcome to do so and you do not need authorisation. In all other circumstances, you will need to formally apply for permission.

We welcome access visits for activities from bona fide community, cooperative organisations and charities that can demonstrate a genuine sustainable agenda.

Applications to access the site can be made at any time, however we encourage site visits to be made during British Summer Time; from the end of March to the end of October, when weather conditions at the site are a little more favourable during these warmer months. We actively discourage any site visits outside this time as dangerous weather hazards can prevent access visits from operating effectively, or at all.

In general, we need at least three weeks’ notice (visits are managed by volunteer guides). All access requests are reviewed by WeSET, the Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative, the Westmill Solar Co-operative and the landowner. We aim to respond with the review panel's decision regarding your request within a week.

Part of any decision about a visit will include an agreement about image rights (where applicable). We will agree in advance how images may and may not be used.

There may be applicable fees levied to cover the initial co-ordination/set-up of your visit and time required by our volunteer guides as escort/s. These fees are available on request.

We hold and will supply our own site risk assessment to you in advance of your visit. It is vital that you and your party read this assessment thoroughly.

In addition, some initial important safety notes and regulations are included below. Please also read these thoroughly:

GENERAL
--- The site is a working farm – beware of vehicles, stay off the crops.
--- The site is very exposed to the elements and ground is rough in places. There is also the danger of insect bites. Precautions should be taken.
--- Vehicles must adhere to the on-site speed limit of 15 mph, and must remain on hard standings as there is a lot of underground cabling on the site.
--- There is no entry to the turbine steps - except under exceptional circumstances.
--- Depending on the time of year there may be no toilet facilities on site. Please contact visit@weset.org for clarification.

DRONE FLYING
---  If you are wanting to use a drone to capture imagery, you must ensure a clearance distance of 50 meters of the turbines at all times
--- You will need to have the relevant insurance to cover potential damage to solar panels and turbines from any drone flying.
--- Drone flying is not covered in our risk assessment, so you will need to ensure this is highlighted in your own risk assessment - a copy of which must be sent to visit@weset.org in advance of your visit.

A full safety briefing is incorporated with our risk assessment - which will be supplied to you in advance of your visit.
