#ShareTheShorts Submission Form 

#ShareTheShorts is a competition sponsored by the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN to:

  • promote awareness of the lifesaving power of organ donation and transplantation
  • engage students and educators in the creation of engaging and informative content that will appeal to younger and more diverse audience
  • build a library of innovative short-form video content public awareness messages for participating partners, social media influencers and youth to share on social media and use during key events (eg. NOTDAW, April Be A Donor Month, Living Donation Week etc.)

Young creatives are invited to submit short videos appropriate for use on YouTube, Instagram and other social media. The videos can range in length (from 15 seconds to 3 minutes) and there is no limit on the number of submissions per individual, class or school. The competition is open to students in two groups
  • ages 12-18 years old
  • 19-24 years old in Canada & US

$30,000 in prizes available. All accepted submissions will be entered into a draw for prizes for budding creators (e.g., cameras, lighting, microphones, gimbals, etc.). 

This is an ongoing competition with multiple deadlines throughout the year.

#ShareTheShorts Rules

Each submission must:

1.      Be the original work of the submitters. Any duplicate or copied work will not qualify, but submitters may collaborate with others towards a joint submission.

2.      Appropriately communicate the purpose of promoting awareness of the lifesaving power of organ donation and transplantation.

3.      Not include the use of any brand name product, or any other intellectual property which the submitters do not have authorization to use this submission.

4.      Not include the use of any discriminatory or disrespectful language or materials. Offensive conduct or language, including any sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ablest, or other forms of discrimination will not be tolerated, and any submission containing any forms of discrimination will not qualify.

The Ajmera Transplant Centre, part of the University Health Network (UHN), reserves the right to decide all questions regarding the rules of the #ShareTheShorts competition.

* warrant that I have read and understood the rules of the #ShareTheShorts competition, and agree that I have complied with these rules in making my submission.

* are authorized to submit the videos and images entered in this competition (each co-creator identified in this submission must complete an authorization and consent form for co-creators at https://bit.ly/3qvAKnP.

* waive my moral right to the videos and images being submitted, give UHN full ownership and rights to the videos and images submitted, and give UHN the right to use the background information about the video and its creators for public awareness and promotional purposes.

* shall indemnify and hold harmless UHN and all other entities associated with #ShareTheShorts, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of, or damage to the videos submitted.

*If the creator identified in this submission is under 18 years old, “I” refers to the parent or guardian of the creator, acting on behalf of the creator.

Submission of a video and this form indicate that you understand and accept the rules set forth herein.
