"CULTURAL & ACADEMIC EXPLORATIONS THROUGH THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC" will be held on July 1, 2021 at 6:00PM (PST)
From the Concert Band, to the Mariachi Ensemble, to a course on micro-operas, to its weekly Wednesday@Noon music events series on Zoom, much like Music Departments in many universities, the UC Riverside's Department of Music has something to offer everyone! Join us for a discussion about exploring your involvement within your university’s Music Department. Learn about the possibilities of engaging in events, course offerings, and performances that are open to all, regardless of prior experience with music. While each department of Music is unique to its location and talents, we will also share information about the Center for Iberian and Latin American Music, recent guest artists, ensembles, and professors, as well as some of the cross-genre, interdisciplinary work in the Department at UC Riverside.

Engaging with your department of Music can satisfy many musical and cultural interests. As an example, UC Riverside’s Department of Music’s offerings range from traditional Western art music and ethnomusicology to cultural studies, gender/sexuality studies, critical theory, free improvisation, digital and electronic music composition, popular music, area studies, and more. Learn more about how you can celebrate music with your Music Department, which often include free online events and resources.
