What Students Say:
"Your program is extremely helpful and made me realize so much about myself, the job market, and the different prospects there are for PhDs. The most helpful parts were demystifying job titles and listening to others speak about their experiences and struggles. You did a great job bringing this cohort together and I appreciate being part of it." - Seif
"I accepted the offer with Meta. I also completed one interview with Microsoft, and another team from Apple reached out. I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for all the advice you’ve shared over the past couple of months. Your support truly made a difference." - Glenn
“I’m excited to share that I passed the interview with Apptronik! You addressed exactly what I'd been doing wrong (I wish I had met you earlier). I learned to prioritize efficient, direct communication (specific value and results upfront, aligning with their actual needs, creating clear CTAs). I'm trying to adopt your fearless approach to rejection and setbacks. I love how you view every setback as learning and seize every opportunity without overthinking the fear of "no." Again, I wish I had taken this course earlier! Never too late.” - Winter
"I have an amazing offer from Stanford. I have a few other offers from private research labs! I found your workshops helpful in figuring out what’s important to me, the value systems that serve as a north star in navigating my career, which was extremely helpful in deciding what jobs to consider and what to quickly walk away from. So grateful for your coaching and this community. Feels nice to know that I'm not alone." - Sonia
“Although I may be able to find information online, I don't have the energy to grab all that information, and I don’t know which one is good. Other resources like ADP are more like building connections, but not a long-term guided mentorship. It was helpful to learn from someone like you who has had a lot of successful industry experiences and has a structured, systematic curriculum.
Another worry I had before joining is: Will I gain enough practical steps and make realistic progress, or will this just be philosophical stuff? It turns out the sessions were definitely practical, and I like the homework that you're pushing us to do toward our goals. It gave me more motivation and brought industry connections. I feel more comfortable job hunting now.” - Yanyan
"I heard from Meta and Blink UX. Both are moving forward with follow-up interviews." - Gorana
“My World Bank offer is going through. I've heard back from both HR and the hiring manager - the former has proceeded with the paperwork. So yay! I watched the Week 4 recording, and it was very useful, particularly the first bit analyzing my LinkedIn messaging conversation with the hiring manager.” - Moumita
“Those hands-on networking tactics that you mentioned, like the CTA strategy, have been really helpful for me. The 2nd part that I feel is very helpful is that you always leave homework for the following sessions. I have a passive personality, and these homework is like a kick-start for me to seriously start the career preparation and avoid procrastination. Now I feel that I did officially start my career preparation instead of just talking about it.” - Yining
"I got a response back from Meta and they have extended me an offer. I couldn’t have done it alone, so thank you so much for your guidance." - Suchi
“You gave me more confidence in how to approach networking. I felt very stuck and unclear about what I should do. But the structure you gave me about reaching out to my network gave me more motivation to do this. Last week, I was feeling intimidated. Now, it’s like... fun." - Fanyi
"I find the program very helpful in terms of understanding the lay of the land and identifying the direction I want to go. I am learning a lot and thinking more clearly about where I’m at. I’ve had a few interviews and am now planning 2 flyouts for September/October, while waiting for more news about interviews/flyouts." - Joe
“When I first joined, I didn’t have ‘life-changing' expectations. My goal was simple: to secure a decent job where I can make an impact and feel better about my life. Over the past few sessions, I’ve realized something is definitely off in my application process whether it’s my resume, portfolio, or, most importantly, how I present myself and communicate. Writing DMs with authority feels like a big mindset shift for me. You always see the glass as half full, and I want to train myself to do the same.
On Mon, I was told Meta was planning to extend an offer (yaaay!). Also, I just wanted to say I really admire the way you articulate your thoughts in speaking, very clear, warm, and precise." - Erfan
“The program is enormously helpful. I have learned so much already and know that I would have spent frustrating months trying to figure out this process without your insights. It's given me some solid footing to identify paths of interest and network much more effectively. I am putting all of that into practice each day by scouting listings, making new connections, and setting up info interviews. I also feel less anxious about my job search.
The networking advice you offer in Career Clear is superb. I've seen a huge shift in my approach and confidence in the last few weeks, and just had another positive informational interview this morning!” - Jessica
