Hello! Thank you for looking at this. A bit of context before you get started, so you know what this is all about.
This survey is intended for anyone who considers themselves a fan of Sherlock Holmes. I am trying to capture the experiences, activities, and opinions on relevant issues of this diverse community. The landscape of Sherlockian fandom has been changing a lot in recent years and my aim is to produce a snapshot of what is happening at this moment in time.
The questions are all open-ended and you can write as little or as much as you like. There are no right or wrong answers. If you don't feel like answering a particular question, just put a "no" or "n/a" in the box please.
The results of this research will be used to produce an academic article for publication - hopefully in a Sherlockian journal. The survey is anonymous, although you can leave a contact e-mail address at the end if you wish to be kept up to date with the progress.
EDIT: Originally, I was planning to have this open until February 28, 2015; however the volume of responses on the first day alone (150 responses over 24 hours) has made me reconsider this. There is a need to balance my wish to hear everyone's voice with my need to keep the data to amounts I can actually work with, so I will close this on January 31, 2015. Feel free to pass the link on to anyone you think might be interested in filling it out.
And some information about me: My name is Lisa Burscheidt. I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for a long time and I am currently on the council of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London and also one of the contributors to the Baker Street Babes podcast.
