Board Positions 2022/2023
We would like to invite you to consider joining the administrative staff of the League. There are various positions available to consider. Each comes with registration discounts for family players.

Description for open board positions:

Executive Board (These positions are voted on.)

- President
Oversee the running and financial affairs of the league. Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches, parents and players. Oversee and support the Age Group Coordinators, Referee Coordinators and Website Coordinator.  Preside and conduct the Annual General Meeting and monthly Board meetings. Implement and enforce the UYSA Constitution, Bylaws and Rules as well as the West United Youth Soccer League Bylaws and Rules.  Attend District 4 Board Meetings and communicate information from the meetings to the Board. The President has the authority to make decisions without having to call a league board meeting.  Responsible for the appropriate use of West United Soccer League funds in coordination with the Executive Board of Directors. Approve Appointed Board members and Scholarships. Order uniforms and maintain a good relationship with our uniform distributor.

- Vice President
Assist the President with the running of the league.  Specifically, oversee and support the Field and Equipment Coordinator and Social Media/PR Coordinator.   Attend the Annual General Meeting and all board meetings. Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches, parents and players.Conduct any Board meetings as directed by the President.  Implement and enforce the UYSA Constitution, Bylaws and Rules as well as the West United Youth Soccer League Bylaws and Rules.

- Director of Coaching
Assist in the training and development of the coaching staff for West United youth soccer league.
Responsibilities include: attending all board meetings, hold regular coaches training meetings, provide support and information to coaches throughout the season, update content on the website for practice ideas, manage a pool of temporary coaches to aid in schedule conflicts when coaches are unable to attend games, promote positive leadership skills and growth to become better coaches.

- Secretary
Attends all monthly board meetings. Prepares a written agenda for monthly board meetings. Takes accurate and complete notes during board meetings.  Sends out reminders for upcoming meetings and follows up on given assignments. Checks phone messages daily and forwards information to necessary board members. Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches and parents.


Administrative Board

- Age Group Coordinator
Find coaches for the age group you are over.  Put teams together prior to the Fall season and throughoutFall/Spring season as players are added to your age group, utilizing the procedures set forth by the league. Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner with coaches, parents and board members.  Attend all games for the age group you are assigned to.  Attend monthly Board meetings.  Assist with field set up as needed.


- Referee Coordinator
Coordinate referee training with the other Referee Coordinators. Assign referees for specified age group and mentor them as needed during the game. Attend all age group games to oversee the referees.  Must have good understanding of the rules of soccer.  Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner with referees, coaches, parents and board members. Attends monthly board meetings. Assist with field set up as needed.

- Field and Equipment Coordinator
Coordinate weekly field set up with all service scholarship positions.  Pick up and deliver all necessary equipment to the field for weekly field set up. Coordinate equipment for field painting. Assist with field set up weekly on Fridays and Saturdays.  Attends monthly board meetings.  
Inventory and maintain all equipment needed for each age group.  Put together Coach Equipment bags prior to the Fall season.  Sign in/sign out equipment to coaches.  Communicate with age group coordinators regarding equipment needs for their coaches throughout the season. Coordinates equipment replacement with league president and treasurer. Maintains and organizes league storage unit. Attends monthly board meetings.  Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches and parents.

- Field Painter: Paint all assigned fields WEEKLY prior to Saturday games.

- Nets: Assist with setting up nets WEEKLY for Fall and Spring Seasons (Saturday Mornings).

- Social Media/PR Coordinator
Post weekly game pictures on our social media platforms.  Communicate with the president regularly about posts to add to our social media pages.  Community outreach during the year for upcoming registrations.  Deliver fliers within the community. Attend weekly games. Attends monthly board meetings.  Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches, parents and the community.

- Website Coordinator
Maintains the league's  website, working with the board to maintain a cohesive design and promotion of the West United brand. The responsibilities include payment and renewal of domain name and hosting, page creation and update of content (collaborating with the board), update of pictures and image gallery. Content upload and creatives as needed.  Communicate in a positive, effective and clear manner to board members, coaches and parents.
