Leadership & Equity Summit Presenter Proposal
2019 Early Childhood Leadership & Equity Summit: Our City. Our Children. Our Power.

March 2, 2019, Knuth Hall, Creative Arts Building at San Francisco State University
8am to 5pm

Leadership & Equity Summit Description:
The San Francisco Early Childhood Leadership & Equity Summit is an experience that welcomes ECE community members to engage in dialogue and strategies focused on educational equity and leadership in early learning settings. The summit is a call to educators, practitioners, and leaders to reflect on and understand our positions as change agents and uplift strategies that move us toward building an equitable society in which our children, families, and educators will thrive in.

Leadership & Equity Summit Outcomes:
1) Frame the need for conversations and work toward equity and highlight inequities using data when applicable
2) Use identified inequities in ECE to develop a shared sense of purpose and tangible strategies and next steps to resolve
inequities, racism, bias, and disparities in SF early learning settings
3) Engage participants in reflection of their positionality and empower them to discover and enact their agency at multiple
levels by seeing themselves as leaders and change agents in this work toward equity
4) Uplift tangible examples, experiences, learning communities, and activities that demonstrate how participants can
make a powerful and meaningful impact on classrooms, school sites, families, policy, and the larger San Francisco
5) Cultivate critical hope as we move and work through disparities in difficult political and working climates

We are seeking morning and afternoon workshops that address the following summit strands:

AM Strands- Reflecting Inward to Improve Our Power as ECE Professionals
