We invite our parents and guardians to volunteer and get involved at Leigh! Please know that even a few hours of your time can make a tremendous difference! Thank you!

All skills and interests are needed. We typically have a variety of projects such as community building, financial management, communications, fundraising, project planning, gardening, writing, technology support, volunteer coordination, College & Career Center support, etc. We also need parents for annual projects such as the Stampede 5K Run/Walk and Senior Grad Night in June.

LEIGH COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER

Under the direction of the Leigh CCC Specialist, volunteers assist students in locating information regarding colleges and universities, in finding SAT and ACT dates and registration information, in discovering scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and by answering questions about the college preparation and application processes. Also provide resources for students who may be looking at vocational and job opportunities after high school. Typically, volunteers work with students in the CCC during tutorial or lunch once per week or once every other week during the school year. STAFF APPRECIATION

Our staff appreciation team supports our teachers and staff throughout the year. Volunteers will be asked to provide refreshments during the school year. There will be individual sign-up sheets sent approximately once a month with requests for food and drink items.

CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION

Participate in various landscaping, painting, or other beautification projects on the Leigh campus. The time commitment varies but will most likely be four hours on one or two Saturdays during the year. More info here: https://leighhsc.org/campus-beautification/

WELLNESS CENTER

Help the Wellness Center Committee Chair with various activities such as assisting with crafts/events and shopping for items needed.

GRAD NIGHT

Grad Night is the ultimate grad party for our seniors and is scheduled to take place at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk in June 2024. Support the Grad Night team by helping with fundraising, selling tickets and other needed tasks to ensure a fun event for our seniors on their last day of school. Parents in all grade levels are encouraged to volunteer. More info here: https://leighhsc.org/gradnight/

COMMUNICATIONS AND TECH SUPPORT

Do you like to build websites? Write? Create graphics? Do you want to participate in ensuring our community stays informed? Do you like to do backend tech support? The communications teams uses several tools to ensure we communicate effectively with our parent community and to ensure our HSC team can communicate easily with each other. Volunteers are needed to help with tasks such as: creating a monthly newsletter, sending email announcements as needed, updating the HSC website, creating graphics, managing Google Apps, and helping out with any tech issues. This team has multiple people as different skillsets are needed.

LONGHORN STAMPEDE 5K PLANNING/PREPARATION

The Stampede is a community event for our school and neighborhood and is scheduled for May 18, 2024. All of our boosters (HSC, Sports Boosters, PAPA and Spirit) participate in organizing this event. Proceeds are divided equally between all 4 boosters. There are many tasks, big and small, in the months leading up to the event including, hanging flyers, advertising to local gyms and youth groups, purchasing snacks for the event, sourcing sponsorship, managing the website, hanging tow signs, helping at Packet Pick Up, and many more tasks, big and small. LONGHORN STAMPEDE 5K DAY OF VOLUNTEERING (scheduled for May 2025)
