2018-19 Graduate Scholars Program will receive an award of $500 each to be used to support their research.
Application Eligibility, Criteria, & Commitments
To be eligible to apply for the PM-GSP, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1.) Individuals must be enrolled in a doctoral degree program (e.g., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) within any field.2.) Individuals who are currently or about to enter the dissertation phase.3.) Individuals whose research and/or dissertation topic focuses on Men of Color. 4.) Preference will be given to applicants whose dissertation research includes Latino males in education (e.g., K-12 students, college students, teachers, faculty, administrators)5.) All U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card), as well as individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, political asylees, and refugees, regardless of race, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
Scholars selected for the 2018-19 PM-GSP will commit to the following terms:
1.) Be assigned a mentor from the Project MALES Faculty/Research Affiliates program and build a relationship through regular meetings/interactions. 2.) Co-author a Project MALES Faculty/Research Affiliates research brief with assigned PM Faculty/Research Affiliate mentor. 3.) Submit professional headshot, brief bio (150 words), and research interest blurb to be highlighted through Project MALES website and social media.4.) Help promote their selection as a PM-GSP Scholar through social media or other outlets. 5.) We strongly encourage PM-GSP Scholars to present their research work at any of the following venues: 2019 Texas Male Student Leadership Summit; ORnational conference (e.g., ASHE, AERA, etc.)

The letter of support should be sent with your curriculum vitae at the time of application submission. If the recommender prefers to submit their letter independently, please submit an additional PDF document indicating who we should expect to receive the letter of recommendation from, and have your recommender send their PDF version letter directly to email@example.com by the deadline (Friday, August 31 by 11:59 p.m. CST). Please ensure that your recommender includes your full name in the subject line of their email.
