Brisbane's Reclink Community Cup 2019 Volunteer Expression of Interest
Thank you for your interest in being in volunteer for the Brisbane Reclink Community Cup.

The Brisbane event is now in its fourth year following the great success the Community Cup has in Melbourne. A key success to Brisbane's Community Cup is the time the volunteers give on the day. Please look through the following volunteer positions to see how you can get involved.

To register your interest please complete the small questionnaire at the bottom of this form.

Volunteers will be required to complete a Reclink Volunteer From and an insurance waiver. This will be issued prior to commencement of volunteering. All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt to wear on the day and take home. Reclink provide insurance for volunteers.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Volunteer Support Liaison
Role Overview
The Volunteer Support Officer role is a key liaison on Community Cup Day. This role encompasses supporting the Volunteer Coordinator organise the volunteers. This is fun role overseeing the success of the day and will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Key duties include:
• Supporting the volunteers as they arrive.
• Ensuring volunteer forms are received or completed on the day.
• Handing out volunteer t-shirts and introducing people.
• Overseeing and managing all volunteer roles on the day.

Skills Required:
You will be a people person with an ability to be flexible to jump from one task to another. There will be peak times when volunteers are all arriving at once so a calm and considered approach to support the volunteers get ready for their day. An ability to think on your feet and change direction will be required. Able to reach out and ask for support when needed. An ability to jump in and support volunteers in positions at peak times.

Hours Required:
Morning 8:00AM to 12:00PM and afternoon 11:30AM to 3:30PM openings available. Happy to discuss your availability in person.

Stage Manager
Role Overview
This role will manage the entertainment for the Reclink Community Cup. You will oversee the Sound Technicians and Band Liaisons. You will work closely with the stage hire company, bands and DJ who are playing throughout the day.

Key duties include:
• This role is required to be onsite to set up in the morning and support bumping out.
• Support the stage hire access the venue.
• Oversee and support the Sound Technicians and Band Liaison volunteers.
• Ensure the electrical and music connections interphase safely to manage audio equipment and sound production.
• Oversee band set up, sound check and performances.
• The key to this role is overseeing the entertainment and that it all runs smoothly in line with the Community Cup Run Sheet.

Skills Required:
Experience as a sound technician is required, but a qualification isn't mandatory. Previous experience in audio and sound engineering is essential. An understanding of PA systems and the interconnection of audio programs will be essential. Interacting with the others throughout the day. Working alongside the bands, DJ and sports announcers will be necessary therefore a good understanding of the day will be required. This will be provided prior to the event. Providing direction, problem solving and team work are essential to having a good fun day.

Audio Sound Technician
Role Overview
This role is a key role responsible for helping set up the stage with audio/sound equipment for the bands and DJ who are performing on the day. You will be work closely with other volunteers such as the Stage Manager, Band Liaisons, Sound Technicians and bands as part of team of an entertainment team.

Key duties include:
• Setting up audio equipment for sound on the temporary stage.
• Ensuring all audio and sound systems are set up and interconnected with the AFL grounds sound system.
• Problem solving to overcome any sound issues.
• Working as a team with other audio and sound technicians, bands and Cup Committee members.

Skills Required:
Experience as an audio and sound technician is required, but a qualification isn't mandatory. Working with the Stage Manager to ensure the entertainment runs to the Brisbane Reclink Community Cup schedule. Problem solving to overcome sound and technical issues could be necessary. Team work and good communication skills will be useful to enjoying this role.

Band Liaison
Role Overview
This role is responsible for supporting the bands upon arriving at the Wilston Grange Football Club. You will help the musicians with their equipment from and to their vehicles, before and after their performances. Storing their equipment safely in preparation for sound checks and performance.

Key duties include:
• Lifting and carrying band equipment.
• Communicating with the band members, Stage Manager and Audio Sound Engineers.
• Ensuring band members are ready for sound check and performance times.

Skills Required:
Communication skills and time management are essential. Experience with bands or the music industry could be valuable but not essential. An appreciation for music and bands will support this role.

Front Gate Ticket Sales
Role Overview
This role will be working alongside other volunteers in greeting Reclink Community Cup spectators and supporters at the main registration table. There could also be merchandise purchases made at registration. Record keeping and or data entry of ticket and merchandise sales will be required.

Key duties include:
• Meeting and greeting.
• Selling single, multiple or family entry tickets.
• Banding registered attendees with the wrist bands.
• Tallying and registering ticket sales for record.


Skills Required:
You will have experience in handling cash and EFT machines. Good math and money skills are essential in the role. Communication and team work will be essential. An ability to work efficiently through peak registrations times and think on your feet. Confidence in multiskilling will be key to enjoying this very important role.

Merchandise Assistants
Role Overview
The Brisbane Reclink Community Cup has two teams, The Rocking Horses and The Brisbane Lines. In line with supporting the teams and fundraising there will be team and 2019 Reclink Community Cup merchandise for sales. T-Shirts, scarves, beanies and other items for sale.

Key duties include:
• Setting up the merchandise stand.
• Maintaining and organising the merchandise.
• Money handling and EFTPOS transactions.
• Keeping track and record of merchandise sales.
• Helping attendees with sizes and prices.

Skills Required:
Able to organise merchandise into sizes and maintaining a neat and tidy display by replenishing items will be valuable. Good math and record keeping ability is necessary. Managing cash and an EFT machine experience is helpful. Team work and multitasking will be useful abilities.

Young Henry's Bar Manager
Role Overview
This role will oversee the volunteers in the Young Henrys bar. This is busy role managing drink sales, stock rotation, volunteer shifts, breaks, money and record of sales. This role will be overseeing the bar set up and establish the most efficient manner to work the bar over the course of the day.

Key duties include:
• Establish a good team environment for a fun and busy day.
• Set up an effective bar and detail the process for the most efficient way to rotate stock, manage beverage sales and other logistics.
• Overseeing the buying and consumption of drinks is in line with Responsible Service of Alcohol.
• Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure you have what you need to serve the game day attendees.

Skills Required:
Must hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol - Queensland certification. Previous experience as a bar, hospitality or people supervisor/ management is helpful but not mandatory. Skilled to oversee and manage cash sales and support sales records is required. Good people skills with an ability to coordinate a busy and fun bar will be required.

Young Henry's Bar Attendant
Role Overview
This bar attendant will be working in a team selling beer, cider and water to game day spectators. This is a busy and fun team where you will require your Responsible Service of Alcohol – Queensland certificate.

Key duties include:
• Selling alcoholic drinks.
• Maintaining records of drinks sold.
• Use your discretion to ensure the public are consuming drinks responsibly.
• Keeping bar clean and tidy.
• Helping in stock rotation and ensuring all packaging is broken down and disposed of responsibly.

Skills Required:
Must have your Responsible Service of Alcohol - Queensland certification. Good math and cash handling skills will be a requirement. An ability to use an EFT machine will be useful. Training will be provided. An ability to work in a team and have fun at the same time will be necessary.

Traffic Control
Role Overview
This logistical role oversees the direction, control and supervision of traffic and access to available parking at the Wilston Grange Football Club. This is an important role to ensure parking runs smoothly and pedestrians are directed to the game.

Key duties include:
• Setting out traffic signs, barriers and managing cars in and cars out for accessibility to the venue.
• Liaising with other volunteers to manage access to the assigned car parks and local street parking.
• Ensuring we manage local resident access as well.
• Supporting the safety of pedestrian traffic to the venue.

Skills Required:
Traffic management or similar experience could be useful but not mandatory. Able to use spatial awareness of oneself and oncoming traffic and the safety of pedestrians will be required. Communicating with drivers and the public as to their direction and safety will be required.

Early Morning Set Up
Role Overview
This role is an early morning role working closely with the Reclink Community Cup Committee Members in setting up the day. A pivotal role to have the game day amenities set up for the Reclink Community Cup. The role will be diverse in tasks.

Key duties include:
• Setting up registration table, merchandise table, shade marques, banners and setting up the frame work of the bar.
• Providing support to food van set up, kids play area and other game day activities.
• You will be working alongside other volunteers and Reclink program participants.

Skills Required:
You will have experience or a willingness to learn to assembling tables, marques and other portable amenities. Good mobility and able to carry items is necessary. If you are good with tools and able to apply practical and sensible solutions to small problems this is a great role for you. An ability to work well with others and have fun doing so is key.

Hours Required:
7:00AM to 12:00PM (TBC)

Rocking Horses or Brisbane Lines Team Support
Role Overview
This is fun and team orientated role. If you are a sports fan or greater still a Rocking Horses fan or Brisbane Lines fan you can get involved to support the team on the day.

Key duties include:
• Setting up the teams change room.
• Participating and supporting team trainer and captains.
• Helping with pre-game and game support for the teams.
• Helping teams during the game with keeping water bottles filled.

Skills Required:
Team work and an ability to think on your feet. Good communication skills with a fun attitude will be very helpful to this role.
