Urdu Poetry McGill Summer 2024 Auditor Form
Please fill out this form if you would like to audit my class Urdu Poetry at McGill University, to be held in Summer 2024 (dates and time TBA) online over Zoom. Auditors may enter and leave the Zoom meeting as they wish. Once you have completed this form, you should receive an email confirmation. I will send you the course outline, Zoom link, and a link to the materials as soon as they are ready, likely around May 2024. Here is a link to the 2022 course outline: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CmuGGxjVnMMduuxjbsgoUGMpNOUR4UzV-RV6FbQNV3o/edit?usp=sharing. The course will in all likelihood remain mainly the same.

PLEASE PRESS "SUBMIT" AFTER COMPLETING THE FORM.

Just so that you have the correct expectations, you should note that this is not a lecture course, but rather a seminar in which the students and I will close-read and translate Urdu poetry slowly, line by line. Enrolled students will have priority, and auditors' microphones may be muted. By filling out this form you indicate that you understand the aforementioned points. However, I should also say that at certain points in the class I may ask for auditors' contributions and ideas about how to translate and make connections within the poetry. I think that your doing so will enrich the students.

If you would like to support the Urdu-Hindi program at McGill monetarily, you can make a donation at the following link, for which you should receive a tax receipt in your email:

Any donation, large or small, is welcome. The Urdu-Hindi teaching program at McGill depends on the generosity of donors. 🥹
