Civic Engagement Fellowship and Facilitator Training Application (Utah)

Essential Partners, Village Square, Living Room Conversations, Salt Lake Civil Network and Utah Humanities are collaborating to build a statewide network for Utahns seeking to become skilled leaders in supporting and facilitating community dialogues. This yearlong fellowship begins with a two day facilitator training delivered by Essential Partners called “Facilitating Dialogue Across Divides” on March 2 & 3.
Fellows will be connected to a larger collective impact initiative focused specifically on Utah as an opportune place for shifting the dialogic culture. The fellowship will follow up with opportunities to facilitate as part of a Village Square event, be involved in a Living Room Conversation, and be expected to design and facilitate a dialogue on some issue relevant to the fellow’s community.
Fellows will become part of a broad (and ever growing) group of facilitators across the state who can offer effective and transformative experiences of dialogue and build public awareness that dialogue is not only possible, but crucial to the future of civic life in Utah.

Fellowship requirements:
To apply you must have the support of a community, institution, organization, or group in which you wish to use these skills.
This work requires partnership. Applications must come from a minimum of two people from the same community or organization who will plan to work together to build and carry out a community plan (teams can be as large as 6).
Willingness to be part of the network of facilitators working to change the civic culture of Utah
Each partnership will have to submit $100 per person deposit that will be held until the end of the fellowship and then returned upon completion.
