Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Volunteer Application
Welcome to the 2016-2017 Faith Development program of Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship!

Thank you for taking the next step in joining our vibrant faith development program.

The Faith Development of youth is sustained through the commitments of time and energy made by many adult volunteers. As a teacher or teaching assistant, you will be part of the leadership who helps our children to connect with one another, engage their community, reflect on their own lives and development, and make meaning in this life. In preparation for this extraordinary journey you will be provided with comprehensive training so that you can enter the classroom with confidence and anticipation. Trainings cover classroom management skills, child development skills for the age group you are teaching, policies and procedures, curriculum overview, and classroom orientation. Trainings are also a great way to connect with other teachers and to ask questions. Volunteers in youth Faith Development have the benefit of learning and growing with our students as they explore topics like where do we come from, what is the meaning of life, what happens when we die, how can we be good stewards of our earth, and what wisdom do religious traditions offer. In addition to working with a teaching team, volunteers have the support of the Director of Lifespan Faith Development, Jeremy Ritzmann, who is available to support, coach, prepare, and advise volunteers the whole time.

On the following pages are questions to get you started on this journey. Please complete this form in as much detail as possible so that the Director of Lifespan Faith Development (DLFD) and the Lifespan Faith Development Council can connect you to the perfect volunteer role for you.

If you have any questions, please email DLFD Jeremy Ritzmann at or call 904.252.3824.

With gratitude and appreciation we look forward to your journeying with our youth this year.
