Adopt-A-Family: Organize a school wide charitable drive in December to assist families in need in the local area. Time: Nov - Dec
Assemblies: Assist in scheduling and organizing events for 6 grade assemblies in addition to 2 general school wide assemblies. Time: Annual
Back to School Night: Responsible for refreshments, set up & clean up at parent reception during BTS night. Time: September
Baking: Organize and schedule individuals to provide baked goods for different school events. Time: Annual
Birthday Board: Take photos of monthly birthdays and update board. Time: Annual
Book Fair: Work closely with scholastic, staff and volunteers to organize a 3 day book fair in the fall & spring. Time: Sept & Feb
Box Tops/Shoparoo/Amazon Smile: Create awareness for the programs that bring revenue to the school by creating contests and encourage participation. Time: Annual
Bulletin Boards: Enhance appearance of school interior multiple bulletin boards/entrance case throughout school as needed. Time: Annual
Family Fun: Schedule and Organize Camp Riverbend in Sept and Spring Family Fun Event. Time: Sept & May
Field Day: Plan and run the annual Field Day event for the school, work with physical education teachers. Time: June
Fifth Grade Event Time: June
Fruit & Veggie Tasting Day: Work with the school Nurse and run 3 to 4 Fruit and Veggie Tasting Days for the children during a non-food day lunch. This includes purchasing, preparing and serving the fruits and veggies. Time: Annual
Grade Rep: Take and obtain photos from parents and teachers throughout the year from events such as class parties, plays, etc. Keep photos for all 6 years and use as needed for the 5th Grade Yearbook. Contact homeroom parents regarding grade-wide issues. Coordinate teacher gifts for grade-wide events. (i.e. concerts, etc.). Time: 6 years
Homeroom Parents: Two parents per class are needed to assist in planning classroom events (parties, trips & special activities), emails parents important school information and coordinate with PTO on holiday and end of year gift giving. Time: Annual
International Day: Celebrate the people, sports, music, foods and traditions of a different country in the morning/organize an assembly in the afternoon. Time: January
Kindergarten Registration & Orientation: Organize and facilitate K Readiness, Orientation and Play date before walk thru. Time: Annual
Literature Day: Work with the school librarian to coordinate book orders and special lunch for the lucky students and author. Arrange for transportation & refreshments during visit. Time: Spring
MOMS' Night Out Time: Annual
5th Grade Year Book Committee: Compile and create yearbook for the 5th grade class. Time: Annual
Original Art Works: Work with Art Teacher and company rep to select theme for artwork, send home to families, compile art orders and distribute when received. Time: Jan - May
Patriots Game: Coordinate the Warren Township Schools Somerset Patriots Game in June. Time: May & June
PTO Luncheon: Organize the annual end-of-year PTO luncheon in school. Time: May
School Beautification: Enhance appearance of school exterior by way of décor, artwork, holiday themes, etc. Time: Annual
School Clothing: Contact vendor, order, sell and distribute school clothing. Time: Annual
Science Days: Organize and coordinate all aspects of science day which includes an assembly and science fair. Science Fair is open to all ALT students to be held in the spring. Time: Sept - April
SEPAC (Special Education) liaison. Attends SEPAC meetings and reports back to the PTO. Time: Annual
Staff Appreciation: Coordinate our appreciation week (food/prizes each day) for the ALT staff. Time: May
Summer Bridge: Organize the ordering and distribution of Summer Bridge books for the school. Time: March & April
Teachers’ Back to School Luncheon: Organize luncheon for teachers on their first day back to school. Time: September
Teachers’ Holiday Brunch: organize volunteers to donate or bake for event. Time: December
Trunk-or-Treat: Organize Halloween festivities for the school, which includes trunk-or-treating in the school parking lot on a Friday night, snacks, activities, entertainment and lighting. Time: October
School Kits: Organize the ordering and distribution of School Supply Kits for the school. Time: May, Sept
Webmaster: Update and maintain ALTPTO.com. Time: Annual
Weekly Eblast: Write and format weekly ALT PTO eblast. Time: Annual
