The Writers Lab Canada Intensive - Presented by Firecracker Department & The Female Eye Film Festival  

In January 2026, during the four-day Intensive, participants will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned industry professionals and mentors to refine their scripts through honing their story core, scene readings, pitching practice, processing feedback, log line lessons, and examining writers’ rooms. In the following months, writers build their craft by submitting developing drafts for further feedback, and exploring career connections with introductions to key industry professionals in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Give your script its best chance for acceptance to the TWL Canada Intensive by having it reviewed Liesl Lafferty, Head of the Firecracker Writing Department, at a special price.

To help generate a script that is viable, Liesl will read your piece, prepare notes and give feedback over Zoom. After the meeting, she will send your script with notes, and then follow up on your progress as requested.

There are 8 slots available for Script Prep Sessions beginning Mon Jul 14, 2025 .

In compliance with TWL Canada Intensive submission requirements, your scripts must be either a polished feature film - 80-120 pages, or a polished pilot - 22-44 pages (half-hour) or 45-75 pages (hour-long).
