FIRST Robotics in Piedmont
Piedmont Makers organizes FIRST Robotics teams and hosts tournaments for Piedmont and the broader East Bay community. Like a sports team, each team will meet for weekly practices on weekdays and weekends. There will also be scrimmages in Piedmont and tournaments at various locations around Northern California. Come to the High School Robotics Open House Wednesday, April 3 at 7pm in the Piedmont High School Student Center to learn more.

Students should plan to participate in either First Tech Challenge (FTC) or First Robotics Competition (FRC). It is not possible to participate in both FTC and FRC since the seasons overlap. The FTC season will run from August to February and if their team qualifies, will continue to Northern California Regional Championships and World Championships in March and April 2020.

The FRC season runs from January through March and there will be 2-4 meetings per month in the Fall to prepare for the season. World Championships are held in April 2020. Students wanting to participate in a technical role (Software, Design, Hardware) for FRC need to be in town on January 4, 2020 when the game is released, MLK weekend, the majority of Ski week (unless they attend a school that does not offer Ski Week).

The deadline is April 21, 2019.
