Powerfully persuasive speech acts
The purpose of this form is to collect as many instances as possible of [small numbers of words] that had a [large impact on changing your beliefs or behavior]. I'd like any and all examples, from any and all domains—professional, romantic, spiritual, motivational, philosophical, etc. **You may fill out this form more than once!** Additional bonus if the words didn't draw their power from circumstance (e.g. a mugger saying "Give me your wallet or I'll shoot" can be a very powerful sentence, but mostly because of the gun rather than the words themselves), but I'll take circumstantial examples as well.
