Womxn's Action Commission Intern Application 2019-2020
The Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) Womxn’s Action Commission (WAC) is one of eight diversity commissions founded by the ASUW. Each commission has a mandate to put on educational programs each quarter, as well as to serve and advocate for its constituency within the student government and the administration. The WAC seeks a social justice framework that recognizes and affirms the multiple and intersecting identities held by woman-identified and/or female-identified-at-birth constituents. For all team positions, there will be a 3-5 hour weekly time commitment (hours will vary based upon need), that includes the weekly 1-hr WAC meeting from Fall 2019 - Spring 2020.

INTERN POSITIONS AVAILABLE (4):
Event and Logistics Intern
-Coordinate tabling logistics and manage volunteers for events held and/or co-sponsored by the WAC
-Work with the Director and AD with planning and executing events
Community Outreach and Collaboration Intern
-Outreach to other entities/communities specifically feminist themed organizations on and off campus about the WAC
-Collaborate with other entities/communities on and off campus that align with the WAC’s values
-Seek innovative ways to connect to such organizations to establish positive and long term relationships with the WAC
Design & Social Media Intern
* focus on designing & media
- Create designs to celebrate womxn & to promote intersectional feminism for events & projects
- Develop content/marketing that reflects the values/culture of WAC & connect students through social media platforms
Legislative Intern (Student Senator)
- Attend weekly senate meetings (Tuesdays, 5-7 PM) as a representative of the WAC
- Advocate for womxn in senate decisions & recommendations
- Keep WAC up to date with legislation & work together to begin initiatives
