The Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability at San Francisco State University is helping develop a new community cultural center that will give disabled San Franciscans a welcoming and accessible place to socialize, build community, educate the public about disability and disability history, and express and foster disability culture. We are conducting a 11-month strategic planning process to identify the types of services, resources and events that adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers want to see included in this new center.
In the spirit of “nothing about us, without us,” the success of this project depends on hearing from members of all of the diverse disability communities in the city of San Francisco, especially those who are harder to reach.
