The purpose of the Intermountain Drives Electric Program is to facilitate the widespread adoption of battery electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) along the Wasatch Front. By increasing EV adoption we can reduce the criteria air pollutant emissions associated with vehicles, and in turn improve local air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Program seeks to achieve this goal by offering discounts to program participants directly from the participating dealership(s).

Before submitting an application, please review the Request for Proposals (RFP). All applicants should complete Exhibit A and Exhibit B in their entirety in order to be considered for participation in the program. The Exhibits may be completed via this online form, or may be submitted in PDF format via email to

Questions regarding the RFP may be submitted in writing to Utah Clean Energy at before August 21 at 5:00pm. Final proposals must be submitted to Utah Clean Energy no later than 5:00pm on September 8. Utah Clean Energy’s Drive Electric Program began in 2015 with the launch of the U Drive Electric pilot program, which was carried out in partnership with the University of Utah. This program helped 76 community members make the switch to electric vehicles in just six weeks. Since, we have added E-bikes to the program and have worked with diverse partners on a total of four Drive Electric campaigns. Altogether, nearly 300 EVs and E-bikes have been purchased through Drive Electric. We are pleased to be partnering with Intermountain Healthcare, and we hope to continue our success during the Intermountain Drives Electric program.

Drive Electric is brought to you by Utah Clean Energy, a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan organization working to build the clean energy economy. We partner to administer community volume discount programs for electric vehicles and provide unbiased and comprehensive information, tools, and resources to understand electric vehicles and increase adoption of electric vehicles in Utah.
