designed to be a patriotic super soldier who often fought Italy, Japan and Germany in World War II.

Captain America was the most popular character during the wartime period. The Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950.  

Captain America wears a costume that stands for the American flag and is armed with an indestructible shield. Captain America is Steve Rogers, a weak young man who after an experiment became extremely strong and skillful; he was reated to help the United States government in World War II.  

Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in animation until he was revived in the present day to become the leader of the Avengers.
