I2SL is dedicated to the design, engineering, and operation of high-performance, low-energy, sustainable laboratory and related high-technology facilities worldwide.
In 2016, we formed the Landfill Diversion Working Group to assemble a national and international group of concerned researchers and sustainability professionals with a vision to relieve the burden of material waste from laboratories, by working in collaboration with suppliers and purchasers of laboratory products.
To this end, our group has two focus areas: one working on tasks related to the supplier aspect, and one working on tasks related to the purchaser aspect. Participation might entail regular phone calls, data and information gathering, and approximately 4 hours per month of time. Everyone is also invited to call in to the main working group meeting which occurs once every 6 weeks.
We invite you to be a part of the I2SL Landfill Diversion Working Group by choosing one of the two focus areas. For more information on work that has been conducted thus far, visit the I2SL Landfill Diversion Working Group web page at http://www.i2sl.org/working/labwaste.html.
