ASLA Science Contest for Junior High Students
Register Here! Participation is 100% free of charge!

The Atlantic Science Links Association (ASLA) is hosting their third biennial SCIENCE CONTEST FOR STUDENTS on April 21st, 2026. Students in grades 7, 8, and 9 are invited to participate. Tests will feature 45 multiple choice questions, relevant to the Nova Scotia science curriculum of the prior grade (for example, the grade 7 test will comprise 45 multiple choice questions based on grade 6 science curriculum).

This is Nova Scotia’s only science contest of its kind and provides an exciting opportunity to encourage your students to participate in STEM by exploring science questions created by university professors and scientists, and the highest-scoring students will be recognized at Dalhousie University and receive a certificate of achievement.

How it works:
1. Register your school/class using the form below
2. Receive multiple choice tests in the mail for each of your students (different tests for grades 7, 8, and 9)
3. Administer the tests at your school on April 21st, 2026, along with all participating schools around Nova Scotia
4. Mail the tests back to ASLA for grading
5. Receive the results by email or in the mail
6. The highest-scoring students and parents will be invited to join us at Dalhousie University for an award ceremony in June
