From the MDGs to the SDGs: Grassroots Women’s Participation in Sustainable Development
Monday, March 13, 2017 | 8:30-9:45am
10th Floor, Church Center

Grassroots women and girls were largely absent from the creation and implementation of the MDGs. While the development of the SDGs was a more inclusive process, gender equality and women’s rights groups still struggle to be included in decision-making on these goals.

Under the #AchieveSDG5 Initiative, Women Thrive Alliance members are advocating for greater inclusion in national-level SDG5 implementation processes.

Come listen to Women Thrive Alliance members from Nigeria present lessons learned from their experiences with the MDGs and data from their new National SDG Scorecard to provide evidence for how the inclusion of women and girls in national-level decision-making processes has (or has not) improved from the MDGs to the SDGs.

Join us for coffee, light refreshments, and lively discussion.
