Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway Awards
As we look toward the 2026 Centennial, we are taking a moment to honor the milestones that have defined our stretch of the road since 2005. This program recognizes the preservation triumphs that saved crumbling landmarks, the marketing brilliance that put small-town Illinois on the international map, and the unparalleled hospitality that makes every visitor feel like they've come home. We are celebrating the "roadies", the dreamers, and the local legends who have kept the spirit of 66 thriving for a new generation.

These twelve categories reflect the diversity and character of our over 420-mile corridor. Whether it's a towering muffler man that has stood sentry for twenty years or a brand-new attraction that captures the imagination of today's travelers, these honors celebrate the collective effort to keep the neon humming. Join us in saluting the people and places that have made the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway a world-class destination over the last two decades.

This award program honors the exceptional milestones, preservation triumphs, and hospitality excellence achieved across the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway since its formation in 2005.
