PREVENT/reduce...RESCUE/donate...RECYCLE/compost
The Alliance for Health Equity (AHE) and the Wasted Food Action Alliance (WFAA) are partnering with area hospitals to identify how hospitals are working to PREVENT wasted food, RESCUE food for donation, and RECYCLE food scraps to build soil health through composting or anaerobic digestion.
GOALS: Investigate opportunities for hospitals to cut costs and add value to how they deal with the food waste produced in providing meals for patients, staff and visitors. Increase food rescue and food scrap recycling programs.
WHO: One person from the hospital should complete the survey (employee involved with preparing, ordering/supplying, and/or discarding of food.) This may involve gathering information from multiple sources. You may want to print a PDF of the survey while gathering information.

SURVEY STRUCTURE: The survey asks a series of questions three times – once each for food waste, rescue, and recycle/compost. You may edit your response as needed.
