Welcome
An Erasmus + seminar/training course on the topics of migration and welcoming migrants and refugees in Europe :

Migration has always been part of the human experience and through this seminar we would like to challenge stereotypes that we can have about migrants and refugees, understand better what’s happening at our borders and what politics the EU do regarding people who want to come to the EU.

We would like to foster the idea of solidarity and respect of human rights as the basis of what linked us in the EU. To work toward that, we are organising a seminar for youth workers, people involved in non profit organisations or citizens, to build knowledge and share good practice on welcoming migrants and refugees in Europe and make sure their basic human rights are respected.

The workshops and activities will be about :

  • Sharing with people from an asylum seeker centre,

  • Using theatre of the oppressed tool

  • Sharing good practice in welcoming newcomers (especially children and youngsters) in youth settings or in communities

  • Activities to help us understand better what’s going on right now at our borders and what are the current policies in place regarding the migration in Europe.

As always in Solaf projects, this project will also pursue

- to build trust and connection between participant to feel the power of community and networking ;

- to inspire with action and tool to help our mind to focus on a desirable future ;

- to build intercultural and international cooperation and solidarity ;

- ecological practice through the setting of the seminar (local, organic and vegetarian diet, etc.)

- to enjoy the nature around us in French Pyrenees

The project will take place from the 11th to the 23th of September 2024, it will take place in the surrounding area of Toulouse, in Tarascon sur Ariège.
