Student Device Form
In preparation for next fall, complete this form regarding the use of student devices at Henry Sibley High School.
If your child attends middle school in our district they use an iPad. At the high school, however, students use a laptop to access course content, complete homework, collaborate and communicate with classmates, conduct research and more.
Just like at the middle schools, this does not mean that students at Henry Sibley use a computer for the entire period of each class throughout their day. Our teachers continue to use traditional instructional methods and ask students to complete assignments or projects using tools other than a computer.
All students at Henry Sibley, regardless of their financial circumstances, have two options:
1. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) – Students/families bring a laptop to school that they currently own or purchase that meets the minimum requirements to use in class each day.
2. Use a school-owned device (at no charge) – Students are provided with a computing device to use throughout their four years of high school. The device is assigned specifically to the student who will need it to bring fully charged to school each day. If a charger for the laptop is; lost, stolen, or inoperable, the student is responsible to purchase a replacement charger.
Before the start of the 2018-19 school year, Henry Sibley High School is collecting information from all students about their intent to bring a device from home or use a school-owned device.
School-owned devices will be distributed in the fall. If you want to learn more about BYOD, visit
