Where: "The Hippocampus", 36 acres of beautiful land in the mountains between Lyons and Estes park. One hour drive from Boulder. Directions will be distributed via email to those that RSVP.
What to expect:
A weekend of easy camping with other families. The land has rope swings, fire pits, tree houses, a zip line, and lots of space for the kids to get filthy in the woods, including a small seasonal stream with a swimming hole. A few (totally optional) semi-structured family activities (e.g. family ecstatic dance, outdoor movie night, ice cream social, etc.)
What to bring: Shelter, warmth, camp chairs, food, ways to prepare food, and water (there is some potable water on-site, but best if everyone brings a share to drink/cook with).
Costs? Suggested/optional/sliding scale donation of $20 - $40 per family to cover port-o-potties, land care costs, and activities. Venmo @ https://venmo.com/u/Allison-Caster
