EUJ mutual aid cooking got started just before shelter in place last year and recently group members have needed to take less active roles, so we are looking for volunteers!

We cook out of a church in the Lake Merritt area on Tuesdays and Thursdays primarily. We're making close to 500 meals fresh hot meals that get distributed to Homefulness, the Village, Self Help Hunger Program, and Lake Merritt United Methodist Church.

*COVID: We do cook indoors, and take COVID seriously! We take temperatures and require double mask (or N95) and vaccinations for volunteering.*

Three Cooks Needed:
We need to add three consistent cooks to join us- two on Tuesdays (8-2pm). Half shifts are possible, though we would like to prioritize folks who can do a full shift. Cooking shifts can be compensated with a $100 stipend. Please indicate on the Form if you need compensation.

Tuesday Cooking tasks include:
- collectively deciding on the day's menu
- washing and chopping up veggies
- cooking meat/chicken on veggies on stovetop and roastin'
- packing up meals and boxing them up
- washing dishes, cleaning up workspace

Two Drivers Needed:
We need drivers to pick up the meals from our kitchen and drive to their destination. This is a one hour commitment, and driving shifts can be compensated with a $40 monthly gas stipend.

On Thursdays, pickup is in the Lake Merritt area at 11:30am and destination is in East Oakland around 82nd Ave and MacArthur Blvd.
