The People’s Joy Parade is a grassroots menagerie of crepe paper float makers, home made costume fashionistas, b-boys/girls, midnight minstrels, Gigante puppeteers, art cars, bike brigades, moving installation artists, Elvis impersonators, cardboard bricoleurs, rainbow dancers, knights of St. Louis, drag queens, beat making marching bands, Mexican wrestlers, robot makers, Virgin of Guadalupe’s, and lost members of the Missouri tribe that seeks to recognize the importance of the people who make up a community.

People's Joy Parade 2011 was voted #1 Parade in STL in the Riverfront Times!

The parade will start at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 5th at the intersection of MINNESOTA ST. & CHEROKEE ST. It will head East on CHEROKEE ST. to NEBRASKA ST.
, North on NEBRASKA ST. to UTAH ST., East on UTAH ST. to TEXAS ST., South on TEXAS ST. to CHEROKEE ST., where we will end by the big main stage. Keep walking towards Potomac so people behind you can get by.

There is a suggested donation of at least $25 per organization or parade participant. Your donation will go towards art materials, parade staff, art teachers, security, administrative costs.

I, being of lawful age (eighteen (18) years old or older) and legally competent to sign this waiver of release, hereby affirm that my participation in the People’s Joy Parade and Festivities is voluntary and further agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Jennifer Callen People's Joy Parade Coordinator, Community Arts and Movement Project, and The Cinco de Mayo Coordinating Staff; and any agents thereof from and against any and all claims, including but not limited to property loss or damage, personal injury, or death of myself and any and all minor participants for whom I am responsible, arising out of or in any way related to my participation in the People’s Joy Parade and Festivities. I further give permission to the People’s Joy Parade and Festivities Coordinators to utilize all images taken of me during my participation in the parade and festivities and understand that I will not be compensated therefore, regardless of how the images are used. All photographs, proofs, negatives, and electronic images and all rights therein shall remain the property of the Coordinators. I have read and understand the above and agree to these terms.
