SCHEDULING & LESSON POLICY
An instructor will contact you to schedule your lesson day and time. If you are a returning student to the Conservatory, your former instructor will contact you. Students who withdraw from the program after August 30, 2022 for the 1st semester, and after December 31, 2022 for the 2nd semester, are responsible for full payment of the semester fee. If withdrawal is on or before August 30, 2022 for the 1st semester, and on or before December 31, 2022 for the 2nd semester, parents are responsible for payment of any lessons their child has received. Students will be given 12 lessons per semester, and are permitted 2 excused absences per semester due to unexpected illness or prior approval by the instructor. If illness, a parent must notify the LCM instructor the evening before an absence or by 7:00 a.m. the day of the lesson. If the child goes home in the middle of the day due to illness, it is an excused absence if the LCM instructor is notified via phone or email at the earliest possible time on the day of the absence. If a student has a standing medical or dental appointment, the LCM instructor must be notified 2 weeks in advance of the appointment. Required school activities are also excused if a parent notifies the LCM instructor at least a week in advance of the required school activity. Lessons for excused absences will be made up at the end of each semester during a two-week period offered by the LCM instructor or as directed by the LCM instructor. For LS students who are being escorted by their Conservatory instructor to and from their lessons, the escort fee is non-refundable and cannot be prorated for the semester in the case of canceled lessons or unused escort service days, due to the instructor scheduling additional time before and after a lesson for escorting students.

All students enrolled in the LCM Program are expected to participate in a recital in the spring semester. Dates and times are listed on the Lovett master calendar, and the LCM instructor will contact parents to schedule their child's recital.
