2023-24 Saratoga High Speech & Debate Club Registration Form
The Speech and Debate team is an after-school, extra-curricular activity designed to build the strong communication skills of all members. It is open to all Saratoga High School Students in Grade 9 through 12. Practices are held during the week where students develop their public speaking, debating and acting skills.

We request a VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION for each student just like school clubs and programs like music, sports and others.

--   Your one-time contribution covers payment to coaches, registration fees for  CFL tournaments, website, accounting and tax status with the State and IRS, organizing school events and team infrastructure.  

--  Your one-time contribution does NOT cover registration fees for local or travel invitationals (referred to as 'invites'), travel expenses for the team, judge buyout, room + boarding and coach or chaperone per diems.

--  Our aim is to balance the budget each year. Consequently, a shortfall will mean a longer or multiple fundraising cycles through the academic year.

--  Our club is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization (EIN  77-0108042). Yearly donation statements will be sent by mid-Feb to the address on file. As always, please consult with your tax advisor for specific guidance regarding charitable deductions.

In addition to donations the Club, we also depend on parents to volunteer their time to help with organization, fundraising, judging, chaperoning, etc.  Please allocate your time to volunteer over the speech and debate season to support our students and coaches. Thank you!

If your family cannot make the basic voluntary donation, your student will NOT be excluded. Please provide the reason for hardship by emailing saratogahigh.sd@gmail.com if you are unable to make the donation. Our club  depends on fundraising and donations and so we ask everyone to please CONTRIBUTE to support our students.
