WHAT IS THIS ABOUT: Did you know that careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are growing more than twice as fast as the rest of the job market? You already know how valuable STEM is to your child’s future success . . . but do you know how much fun it can be?
Come find out at Aldrin’s STEM + Families Science Festival, sponsored by Bayer! Science Festivals are a fun, family-friendly event that spark passion for STEM through activities and experiments for BOTH students and their families.
You and your child will explore … inspire … empower … and educate yourselves about how much fun science can be. You will also learn simple things you can do at home to foster your student’s interest in STEM. Most importantly, you will get the chance to connect with other families while you and your children learn and play together.
Research shows that family engagement leads to greater student success. Students with engaged parents are more likely to earn higher grades, attend school regularly, have better social skills and go on to college. We are very excited to see family engagement come alive in our PTA STEM + Families program, and we hope to see you there!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Aldrin Elementary School Families.
IMPORTANT: All children MUST have a caregiver with them. STEM + Families is meant to engage families together in fun STEM experiences. So, please make every effort to join us and enjoy a night of interactive science experiments with your child.
Refreshments (snacks and drinks) will be provided.
COST: Free! The cost for this event is being covered by the Bayer Fund to Aldrin Elementary School PTA from National PTA. *PTA does not endorse any commercial entity, product, or service. No endorsement is implied of Bayer.
MEDIA ADVISORY: Each household will be asked to sign a media release as part of the
onsite check-in process for this event. Please read and complete the Media Release Form below.
What to Expect:
- First, stop by the registration table to collect your passport and sign the media release.
- Then proceed to the gym. As a family, explore different stations and participate in fun STEM experiments. Once your family has completed at least 5 stations, fill out the survey. Kids will be able to collect their prize and adults will be entered in a door prize.
