Alpha Exchange China Leadership Delegation 2020
Overview
The China Leadership Delegation is a 10-day program from 16-26 April 2020 designed to support education leaders in deepening their understanding of this complex country and strengthening their institution’s cultural exchange programs and partnerships.
Objectives
The China Leadership Delegation provides an opportunity to:

(a) Visit Chinese Schools: Spend time at 3 local secondary schools, meeting with educators, observing classes and interacting with students. You will learn about current trends in education in China while sharing perspectives from your home district.

(b) Build Meaningful Partnerships in China: Formalize agreements with the schools you visit or other schools in the Alpha Exchange network to create learning opportunities for your school. You will learn about the benefits and process of developing a true international educational partnership with a school in China, with student exchange and faculty learning as cornerstones.

(c) Explore Three Of China’s Most Popular Cities: The delegation will travel throughout Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing, allowing you deepening your understanding of this complex country through primary experience. You will visit important historical and cultural sites and have some free time to explore in your own.

(d) Attend The US-China Youth Forum: Join 300 students and educators from over 50 schools in China, the US and the UK at the 2nd Annual US-China Youth Forum. You will have opportunities to exchange ideas with fellow school leaders and enjoy a tour of Keystone Academy, one of China’s most pioneering K-12 schools led by esteemed international educator Malcolm McKenzie.

(e) Join A Network of Global-Minded Educators in the US: In addition to the fellow school leaders you will meet on the delegation, you will join a network of almost 100 educators across the US, including access to regular events and professional development opportunities stateside.

(f) Learn How To Implement Global Ed Programs in the US: One of the leaders of the delegation is Headmaster Emerita of Boston Latin School, the oldest public school in America. You will learn how this school developed and implemented a Center for Global Understanding to promote intercultural learning for faculty and students, aimed at providing a true 21st century education to all.
