Do you live or work in the Monterey Bay Area? Are you passionate about supporting youth in the arts? Do you believe in conservation?
Monterey Bay CUE is currently in the early stages of planning a Student Powered Film Festival centered around student creation, conservation, and digital media. The idea is for students in the Monterey Bay area to create a short video celebrating Earth Day and/or promoting conservation. Students from transitional kindergarten through community college are encouraged to apply. After submission, top videos will be aired at a local community-oriented event as the red carpet is rolled out on Earth Day, April 22, 2018. Prizes and recognition will be awarded to the best video in one of four grade bands.
To support this effort, Monterey Bay CUE, a non-profit organization, will be offering a series of trainings throughout the Monterey Bay area to teachers who are interested in having their class participate in this event and want to learn more about digital story telling.
With local students at the center of this film festival, Monterey Bay CUE would like to build community partnerships to make this event a local success for our youth. We are currently seeking organizations and people who may be interested in sponsoring, volunteering, or participating in this event. Sponsorship could include anything from food and decorations to printing and prizes.
